A recent JD Power Study on small business commercial insurance showed increasing dissatisfaction by smaller businesses in their commercial insurance offerings and service. Some of the key findings of the study were:
1. Overall customer satisfaction in the small commercial insurance market has increased. Satisfaction improved for larger small businesses (11-50 employees), but declined for the smaller businesses (five-10 employees) and remains steady among the smallest businesses (fewer than five employees).
2. Service interactions was the most important overall customer satisfaction, which contributed to sharpest declines this year, driven by customer dissatisfaction with agent/broker interactions.
3. The preferred service interaction for small business insurance customers split between agent in-person/phone and website. Other agent interactions were agent e-mail/text; customer service e-mail/text ; customer service phone; and mobile app.
4. Even though the preference for self-service has grown and most people still prefer in person contact.
