Beginning March 21, 2023, SafeLaw Cyber Insurance Program Insureds began receiving non-renewal notices via the mail for their cyber insurance policies. All SafeLaw policies with effective dates after June 1, 2023, received this notice.
SafeLaw Cyber Insurance focused on providing coverage to law firms. Created for law firms SafeLaw specialized in cyber risk insurance to protect law firms from cyber risks but it currently has no program reinsurer for renewals after June 1, 2023.
The stated non-renewal notice reason is:
Talbot Underwriting Limited (“Talbot”) has decided that it will no longer continue to underwrite cyber risk insurance for small to medium sized enterprises in the United States of America.
This company driven business decision non-renewal does not negatively reflect on your insurability.
As SafeLaw searches for a new program reinsurer, L Squared can assist in finding replacement cyber insurance. With the timing of SafeLaw finding another reinsurer uncertain, do not count on a replacement program prior to your renewal.
