Law firms are receiving letters from Protexture notifying them of the end of the United State Fire Insurance Company (USFIC) Lawyers Professional Liability Insurance Program (LPL). Attorneys have stayed with USFIC for years in hopes of getting a free USFIC retirement tail or extended reporting period (ERP) endorsement. Unfortunately, unless you retire prior to your policy expiration that will not be possible.
L Squared has been offering LPL for over 20 years which is longer that most insurers have been writing LPL. Over that time, we have seen insurers come and go leaving ‘soon to be’ retiring attorneys in a pickle.

L Squared writes with insurers that will honor time spent with another insurer for purposes of qualifying for a free retirement tail. The insurer will require that you stay with the new insurer for one renewal prior to retirement.
