Blazing Trails: The Future of Cannabis in a Changing Legal Landscape

Few areas of law are as dynamic and broad as Cannabis Law, which can cover the spectrum from federal banking regulations and state licensing laws to white collar criminal defense. Join the “First Lady of Texas Cannabis Law”, Lisa Pittman, as she guides lawyers practicing in this field how to:

  • Understand the laws of their state – which may differ significantly from those of neighboring states – in order to represent their clients competently.
  • Know the interplay between federal laws and those in their respective states.
  • Navigate the myriad ethical considerations of cannabis law.
  • Assess the risks and opportunities for their own law practice.
  • Keep up with changes in the law.

Alta Pro applies directly for approval of its webinars in the following states: CO, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MI (Michigan Indigent Defense Commission credit), MN, NC, SC, OH, PA, TN, TX and WI. In almost all cases, given that our webinars are always approved in the above 14 CLE states, lawyers who are licensed in any other US state will also be able to receive credit for attending our webinars. Certain states, known as reciprocal states, will simply accept the approval from any of the above states, as if the program was approved in their state (i.e., AZ, CA, CT, FL, NJ, NY among others). Other states require that the lawyer submit an application for approval. While we do not apply in every state, our CLE coordinator will assist any attendee with the application process.
