Meet the Expert: Lisa Pittman
Lisa Pittman is a pioneering figure in the emerging legalized hemp/cannabis industry. She is the chair of the American Bar Association’s Cannabis Law & Policy Committee and a non-resident fellow of the Drug Policy Program at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy. Ms. Pittman presented the American Bar Association’s first marijuana law CLE at its annual meeting in New York City in 2017. She is an appointee to the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Industrial Hemp Advisory Council. Her work has earned her the title “The First Lady of Texas Cannabis Law.”
Alta Pro applies directly for approval of its webinars in the following states: CO, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MI (Michigan Indigent Defense Commission credit), MN, NC, SC, OH, PA, TN, TX and WI. In almost all cases, given that our webinars are always approved in the above 14 CLE states, lawyers who are licensed in any other US state will also be able to receive credit for attending our webinars. Certain states, known as reciprocal states, will simply accept the approval from any of the above states, as if the program was approved in their state (i.e., AZ, CA, CT, FL, NJ, NY among others). Other states require that the lawyer submit an application for approval. While we do not apply in every state, our CLE coordinator will assist any attendee with the application process.
