Cupid Upgrade not a Match made in Heaven

May 10, 2017

According to Counsel Financial Blog, Match Group Inc.  runs a number of dating sites.  One of those is OkCupid.  The Proposed Class Action case Chad Perkins et al. v. Match Group Inc. et al., case number 1:17-cv-2988 filed in US District Court alleges that Chad Perkins was defrauded by OkCupid.   Chad Perkins started out as a “free” user but received messages from OkCupid stating that if he would upgrade to a paid subscription, for an additional $45.00 OkCupid would reveal the secret identity of matches of people who viewed and liked his profile.

According to Perkins, the potential matched once revealed were linked to non-active or dead profiles.  Guess $45.00 does not buy what it used to.
